The NRHA recently announced that it has doubled the Added Money at the NRHA Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship, and has also announced a new event for December 2nd ~ The World Championship Shootout.

Affiliate Finals
The NRHA Eastern Canada Affiliate Finals are approaching. In order to compete at the Affiliate Finals:
- You must be an NRHA member
- You must have designated the ORHA as your affiliate by August 1, 2010
- Your affiliate must have held the class three (3) times
- You must have competed at least once and received a score
The top ten horse and rider combinations, plus ties, are eligible to compete at the Eastern Canada Affiliate Finals, which will be held September 24, 25, 26th in Blainville, Quebec.
Please check the Affiliate standings in the show office at each ORHA show, to see if you qualify. And if you do, we urge you to consider attending the Affiliate Finals – the Quebec Reining Association and its members are great hosts and it is a fun event.

Our Condolences go out to Richard and Cindy Anderson and their family on the passing of their son in law James Gerrit, Husband of Sarah Anderson and father of Maggie James. After a long battle with cancer James passed away on Aug 20. Our Prayers are with you all.

ORHyA Update
As the show season is progressing it is becoming even more obvious that the dedication of our active youth members can be seen in and most definitely out of the show pen. At the Reining Classic Show held this past weekend in Waterford, youth members pulled together to hold a successful horse wash and their hard work as well as the generous support from ORHA members is much appreciated.
At the approaching Spooks Gotta a Gun / Wimpy’s Little Step Show the Youth are planning an exciting new fundraiser for all members to participate in. More details will be provided at the show, so please keep tuned to any announcements held at the show.
Just a reminder to the youth and concerned adults, that to receive ORHyA year end awards, youth members must be actively participating in youth events. Also, the ORHyA is planning a social event for Youth members for the Grande Finale show. Further details will be discussed during the Youth Meeting at the August 14th-15th show.

who scored 213.5 at the FEI North American Young Riders Reining Championships in Kentucky this past week, and as a result took home Silver in the Individual medal competition.
Youth 50/50 Draw
The winning ticket for the 50/50 draw is #0479926 and the recipient gets $62.50. This can be claimed by contacting the ORHya President, K.D. Grainger, at graingergal@hotmail.com.
If the prize is not claimed by July 31, the amount will be added to the pool for the next 50/50 draw.
ORHA BOARD NEWS
The Board of Directors is looking for up to two members to join the Board. If you are an independent thinker, dedicated to the ORHA, and can attend a meeting every 2nd Monday of the month from 7 - 10 p.m. Please contact Carol Ivey at 705-329-1261 or president@orha.on.ca for more information.

The ORHA Board is delighted to welcome K.D. Grainger to the role of ORHyA President for the balance of 2010.
Wendy Dyer has stepped down from the Board of the O.R.H.A. after many years of dedicated service in order to spend more time with her family and riding her horses. While this is a loss to the ORHA, we do appreciate all she has done for the Association over the years and appreciate that she will continue to be involved behind the scenes and to be our Ontario Equestrian Federation representative.
Brian Stewart has also resigned from the Board and we offer him our thanks also, and wish both him and Wendy the very best.
2010 Adequan FEI North American Young Riders
The Canadian Reining Committee recently announced the lineup of teams for the 2010 Adequan FEI North American Young Rider Championship, to be held in Kentucky at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, and we are delighted to announce that the Ontario team is made up of three O.R.H.A. members:Lyndsay Kloster,

Due to an outbreak of Strangles in Southern Ontario everyone should have in place biosecurity measures and ensure the guardian of your horse is aware of your requirements in this regard. Biosecurity measures are also applicable to human movement between barns and properties. Vaccines provide limited or no protection. DO NOT ASSUME YOUR HORSE IS SAFE.
Best practises for biosecurity can be found at:
http://www.omafra.gov.on.ca/english/livestock/horses/facts/00-091.htm and should be implemented at all times not just during times of an outbreak of contagious disease.

Posting plain ads is a free service offered to registered users....so take your time getting to know the program & enjoy. It has been succesfully tested.
If you abuse the system we will delete you & your ads without prior notice! Your ads MUST be reining related!
